If you’re considering seeking professional help to overcome the disease of addiction, you should know about all the various treatment options available. The continuum of care isn’t one size fits all, and successfully maintaining lifelong sobriety requires you to find a philosophy that resonates with you and a treatment plan that meets you where you are. At New Found Life, many of our clients have found the additional support and structure of our outpatient rehab services to be beneficial in relapse prevention.
What Is Outpatient Rehab?
We have designed our outpatient rehab program for clients who have completed our residential treatment and discovered they need ongoing guidance and accountability as they work on integrating recovery into their lifestyles. Based on your unique needs and schedule, you’ll attend therapy at our Long Beach treatment facility for three to six hours per week, building upon the skills you learned in inpatient treatment.
In outpatient rehab, you will also work alongside a dedicated case manager who will ensure you stay on track with your recovery. Your case manager will customize a plan to help smooth your transition into life outside our treatment facility. If necessary, they’ll also help connect you with community resources such as local therapists and 12-step groups or provide educational or vocational assistance.
Benefits of Outpatient Rehab
Now that you understand more about what to expect from outpatient rehab, what are the advantages of enrolling in this supplementary programming?
- Flexibility: Many of our clients say they love how versatile outpatient rehab is. In contrast with inpatient rehab, where you stay with us around the clock, outpatient rehab gives you the independence to come and go according to your scheduling needs. That means you can get a job, visit with friends and family members and enjoy your favorite hobbies and recreational activities while participating in outpatient rehab. You also decide how long you wish to take advantage of our outpatient services.
- Tailored treatment plan: Since addiction recovery is an ongoing process, your case manager will work one-on-one with you to customize your outpatient rehab program to accommodate your changing needs and the progress you’ve made along the way.
- Extra accountability: While you are participating in outpatient treatment, we’ll conduct random drug screening to ensure you are staying sober. Your case manager will also guide you in setting and achieving healthy goals to keep you moving forward.
- Family participation: Our outpatient program includes a family therapy component to help you improve your relationships with your loved ones. Family therapy is also an opportunity to hone your communications skills and for those you care about most to educate themselves on the disease of addiction.
